Music
Music is an integral part of Christian life and worship. At Zion, we sing our faith in the Divine Service through the shared liturgy and hymnody of our church body. Services are led by the organ. Our choirs and other instrumentalists serve our congregational song through their added time and talents, crowning the greater Church’s song with even higher praise and beauty.

Sunday School Music

Children enrolled in Sunday School participate in Music during the first ten minutes of their Sunday morning instructional time. We focus on reinforcing the liturgy and hymns of our services. The Sunday School children sing as a choir in the Divine Service 2-3 times during the academic year.

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir is open to all singers high school age and older (younger exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis). This is a non-audition group, but previous singing or musical experience is encouraged. We rehearse Wednesday evenings from 7:30-8:30 p.m. from September through May and typically sing in the Sunday Divine Service about twice a month.

Instrumentalists

Individuals who play piano or other woodwind, string, and brass instruments are invited to play music which complements the liturgy and hymnody of our Divine Service. The Music Director assists with this scheduling and music selection, the latter of which typically assumes an intermediate to advanced player.
